Lancashire Aero Club was established in 1922, is the oldest active flying club in the UK and possibly the world. It was based at Barton Aerodrome from 1947 until early 2007 but has now left for another venue, although we are actively seeking an airfield of our own.

Aircraft starting and parking

Aircraft engines may only be started in a designated starting area as indicated by the Duty Officer.

Where engines are to be hand-propped, chocks and a tiedown must be used unless a qualified and experienced person is available to man the aircraft while the pilot swings the prop.

Pilots are reminded that the Duty Officer has complete jurisdiction on matters of safety in the parking area at Kenyon Hall Farm.
